Our BMW M3 Differential Oil Service Kit has been especially created for the rear differential found in the E36 and E46 models of the M3.
This kit contains 2 x 946 ml bottles of Red Line 75W140 differential oil and 1 x 118 ml bottle of Red Line Limited Slip Diff Friction Modifier.
Replace the gear oil in the diff as normal which will use between 1.1 and 1.3 litres of the 75W140 diff oil and then add about 20 ml of the friction modifier. You may need to add a bit more friction modifier depending on how clunky your diff is, keep adding it in 20ml quantities until the noise is reduced.

BMW M3 E46 Differential Oil Service Kit
Our BMW M3 Differential Oil Service Kit has been especially created for the rear differential found in the E36 and E46 models of the M3.
This kit contains 2 x 946 ml bottles of Red Line 75W140 differential oil and 1 x 118 ml bottle of Red Line Limited Slip Diff Friction Modifier.

Red Line 75W140 GL-5 Gear Oil is regarded as one of the best oils on the market. The 75W140 already contains a small amount of the Red Line Friction Modifier, and works well in most limited slip differentials. The BMW E36 and E46 M3 does suffer from a noisy diff and many people have found that adding a small amount of friction modifier reduces the noise.
